Guidelines for Gender-responsive Sports Organizations have been developed by HeForShe Turkey as a trail-blazing effort to translate the UN Women’s Sports for Generation Equality principles into a feasible step-by-step guide.

UN Women Turkey developed the Guidelines for Gender-responsive Sports Organizations based on the Sports for Generation Equality Principles, taking into account the experience of UN Women's HeForShe movement and Fenerbahçe Sports Club partnership with the support of Tüpraş, Turkey's largest industrial company.

The Guidelines assist sports organizations in transforming their intentions to empower women and girls and advance gender equality into actual practice, based on measurable and concrete actions and indicators. For each of the six principles, the Guidelines provide scope, concepts, key objectives, areas of implementation, and a road map to follow in applying the principles. They offer a systematic method for sports organizations to comprehensively evaluate their current standing on gender equality, develop and implement measures that address gaps and barriers, and monitor and report progress.

This publication was developed by UN Women Turkey within the framework of the HeForShe Turkey–Fenerbahçe Sports Club partnership with the support of Tüpraş.
