About Emily

Message Emily
Emily believes that sport has the power to influence social change and has unlimited potential to be a safe space for everyone to belong, show their authentic self and realize their potential. Having worked in sport for more than a decade, Emily's mahi (work) has involved coaching, club development, and sport development, with a particular focus on young people, women and girls, and disabled people. Emily is proud to have been a director on the Blind Sport New Zealand board, a committee member of Special Olympics Auckland, and many coaching roles working with disabled tamariki and rangatahi. Emily has experience working with and for regional and national sports organisations and is studying Social Policy part-time at Massey University. Emily currently leads Golf New Zealand's commitment to diversity and inclusion both internally and externally to improve the opportunities and experiences for under-represented groups in golf. Emily works with excitement at the potential of golf being the most inclusive and accessible sport in the world with golf's handicap system allowing individuals to play recreationally and compete equitably regardless of age, gender or ability. Further, the diverse range of golf courses, facilities (like driving ranges and mini-golf), and flexibility in playing formats means there is truly something for everyone.
